"Tootsie" One Of The Funniest Movies Ever!
I love this movie! My parents love this movie, and they're the ones who introduced me to it. I remember in the 80's as a little girl I used to watch this all the time with them. I continued to watch it with them in the 90's as well, and I still watch it to this day!
I think this is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I just love every minute of it, and have fond memories watching it with my parents.
For those of you who haven't seen this movie, I suggest you see it, you won't regret it. Dustin Hoffman is the best, I've never seen him funnier. He plays (Michael Dorsey) an out of work actor that all the directors hate working with so much they won't hire him. Desperate, he gets an idea to dress up like a woman!
He so good at playing a woman he fools everyone, his agent, his roommate, even his girlfriend! He even gets a job for a soap opera playing Emily Kimberly, a single, so-so looking woman. He soon decides that Emily should use her own lines which drives the director batty. He then falls for Julie, (the pretty hospital nurse played by Jessica Lange), but he can't tell her.
He also has to avoid being kissed by his co-actor John, and Julie's dad who both are smitten with Dorothy, Wait 'till you see the scene when John actually manages to sing his way up to Emily's (Michael's) apartment!
There's laughs all through out the movie, along with an excellent story line.
One of my favorite scenes is when he reveals himself as Michael Dorsey on live television, and the reaction from everyone watching is hilarious.
I'm sure you'll love this movie, if you haven't seen it already. If you have, and love it like I do, but don't own it; you can get it here:

Did you know that Dustin Hoffman was upset that he didn't look pretty as a woman? A man isn't supposed to be pretty though..
